RECOVERY: Opportunities designed to allow students to recover from a low cumulative grade (73 or below) or a failing cumulative grade (below 70) will be allowed when all work required to date has been completed and the student has demonstrated a legitimate effort to meet all course requirements including attendance. The maximum grade a student can earn for any recovery activity is 70. This grade will be determined by averaging the grades on the initial and recovery test. Students are responsible for contacting the teacher concerning recovery opportunities no later than one week after being informed.
The teachers in the math department will update student grades in Integtrade approximately every two weeks. Quizzes and tests will be entered into Integrade to show when they will occur upon announcement to the students. Please be aware that quizzes, tests, and projects take some time to grade. Tasks will be edited as the grades are entered and on occasion dates will change. Not every single individual assignment will be given on Integrade. Due to the nature of mathematics and daily assignments, this would be a labor-intensive task.
USE OF GRAPHING CALCULATORS: These powerful tools must be used APPROPRIATELY !! They are NOT substitutes for students learning mathematical concepts and processes, but rather to enhance student learning.
I have a set of graphing calculators for classroom use. It is the student’s responsibility to return them in good order, with batteries at the end of each class period. If a student prefers to use his or her own TI 83 or TI 83+, I will clear the memory before and after each test.
GAME PLAYING IS NOT permitted in class. That will result in the automatic clearing of memory, and further disciplinary action. JUST DON’T DO IT!!!!
